Support for project-based learning in BIOL 3090 (Our World of Infectious Diseases): Virtual Reality museums
The project will address challenges related to maintaining equity in a scaled up course, student technical frustration, communication of goals and progress, and public release of student products.
As a complement to content learning on infectious diseases, students construct Virtual Reality (VR) museums to educate the public on world pathogens in BIOL 3090. Grant-funded activities include hiring and training student mentors, assembling a library of instructional resources, and consulting an intellectual property expert in relation to sharing the VR museums as Open Educational Resource (OER).
