Creative Pathways: Transforming Assessments for Equity and Excellence in Performing Arts Education
Project Summary: The project aims to explore and develop innovative, equitable and inclusive grading practices to enhance educational experience and achievement of the students in a creative arts course.
To foster an environment where students can thrive in their pursuit of knowledge and skill in the performing arts, I am in search of assessment options that are more compatible for experiential course work subjective in its adjudication. In our ever changing university landscape, I seek to develop grading practices that are equitable, comprehensive, and reflective of the needs not only of the course but those of the students that enroll in it. This grant proposal seeks funding (faculty stipend) to investigate innovative grading practices and realign course rubric to enhance the educational experience and achievement of the students in a creative arts course.
