Building Communities from Mathematics and Beyond
Support for activities and programs to expand, diversity and create more equity within the community of Mathematics learners and educators.
Mathematics has often been viewed as a discipline reserved for specific types of students who possess a natural aptitude and fit certain gender and cultural profiles. This project challenges those stereotypes and aims to encourage interest from learners who would otherwise shy away from the subject. The project would fund activities that expand diversity in the geometry lab, enhance the Humanizing Mathematics course and nurture community among like-minded educators.
