Using OER materials in place of place of traditional textbooks lowers the cost for all students. OER will be drawn from authentic Portuguese content (YouTube videos, online journalism, Instagram creators, memes, etc.) that are diverse, inclusive, and build awareness of social justice issues. The grant will support the creation of supplementary content (texts, interviews, videos, etc.) in order to make the learning experience more effective, accessible, equitable, and inclusive. This will positively impact Portuguese language courses at the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.
