A&S Canvas Weekly Module Template
The A&S UVACanvas Weekly Modules template is designed to help you reduce the number of questions from students by providing a more self-explanatory lay-out of the course in Canvas, and to give you a template to reduce course setup time. Key features include:
- 16-Week Module Structure
- Organized by week to provide a consistent rhythm and clear progression through the semester.
- Weekly “Before, During, After” Overview Pages
- Each week includes a To-Do page that outlines what students should do before class, during class, and after class. These pages highlight learning objectives, links to internal and external course resources and required tasks, and support information, promoting transparency and time management.
- Built-In Navigation and Support Elements
- Visual cues and consistently labeled pages help students navigate the course with ease and quickly locate help when needed, reducing cognitive load and allowing more brain-space to be used for learning the content/skills rather than navigation of Canvas.
- Accessibility-First Design
- The template is built with digital accessibility best practices to ensure all students, including those using assistive technologies, can engage more fully with course content.
- UVA Student Support Resources
- A curated list of academic, health and wellbeing, safety, and financial university resources to help ensure equitable access and success for students.
The template is in Canvas Commons as a Canvas Course site and can be imported into your existing Canvas courses.
