This is the third and final year of redesigning Russian curriculum materials at 1000-3000 levels. For the last two years we have been developing new, video-based learning materials – videos, activities and assessments – for students of six different sections in RUSS1010, 1020, 3010 and 3020. So far, we have created over a hundred interactive activities available to learners at all times online. This project motivated us to look for additional ways to flip the classroom and change our in-class and out-of-class instruction. We added online grammar component with videos, power point presentations and comprehension questions to monitor students’ familiarity with the new material. Right now, we are working on making more videos and uniting our interactive listening and grammar activities on Collab to create productive flipped classroom environment and significantly improve student learning experience.
