Improving Student Assessment In Statistics Courses With Gradescope

Over the past few years, the Statistics Department has seen an incredible increase in demand for our courses. In order to meet that demand, we have raised enrollment limits in many of our courses. Thus, feasible assessment has changed drastically due to grading limitations. Gradescope is a tool that can greatly reduce grading burden, allow use of pedagogy-based assessments, lead to more consistent grading, increase the quantity of feedback given to students, and provide instructors with detailed analysis of student responses. I propose funding for the use of Gradescope for the Statistics department and other interested faculty (see details below).
