Empowerment through Engagement: A Fresh and Interactive Approach for Teaching Applied Statistical Courses in Psychology
To address the challenges of actively teaching statistics and programming to a class with diverse statistical backgrounds in the department of psychology, we will redesign a series of courses, adding and improving technology-based approaches in the classroom. We aim to create a receptive atmosphere, change students' attitude towards statistical courses, and build up consistent experiences for students in Psychology who take multiple quantitative courses.
Second Year of Funding
In continuation of our LTi project, we will progress our goal of creating active learning classrooms with a receptive atmosphere by redesigning a series of quantitative courses in the department of psychology. To engage students whose motivations and interests are less inclined toward statistics and programming, we will build up consistent significant learning experiences for students in Psychology with diverse statistical backgrounds, improve technology-based approaches, and hope to change students’ attitude towards quantitative courses.
