
Eric Bredder
Bio
Eric Bredder is an instructional designer supporting a wide variety of STEM applications at UVA. Prior to joining the College of Arts and Sciences as an instructional designer, Eric was an associate professor in electronics and manufacturing at Piedmont Virginia Community College and served as PI on an NSF ATE grant that helped develop a pipeline for students to enter manufacturing industries. He has taught engineering, technology, and computer science in K12 public schools for over a decade. Eric has extensive experience supporting pre-service and in-service teachers in organically implementing technology in their classrooms to enhance student learning. Eric holds a PhD in STEM Education (UVA), an MEd in Instructional Technology (UVA), an MEd in Education Leadership (ODU), and a BS in Technology and Engineering Education (TCNJ). His PhD dissertation work formed the foundation for an NSF ITEST grant developing accessible robotics for elementary students to learn computer science. Eric enjoys designing electronics, prototyping with advanced manufacturing tools, and rebuilding vintage woodworking machinery.
