STEM Commons in Gilmer

This space is located in Gilmer 290, 290A, 290B, 290C, 290D, 290E.

This space design is a collaborative environment where students, faculty and staff explore STEM disciplines through workshops, learning communities, and events. Our goal is to ignite participatory learning across disciplines. The space is designed to create gathering places serves as a place for experimenting, collaborating, engaging inquiry and knowledge building.

This space is a flexible space and supports a wide varying pattern of use, from the conventions of solitary, quiet study, learning communities to the pedagocially –driven need for active group study, project areas, consulting, mentoring, and office hours. 

In 290 there is an increased need for academic discussions and events in thespace. The intention is to encourage more current, collaborative learning for students, faculty, and staff.
