This space design is a collaborative physical and virtual environment that invites and ignites participatory learning.
The space is designed to create gathering places serves as a place for experimenting, collaborating, engaging inquiry and knowledge building. This space is a flexible space and supports a wide varying pattern of use, from the conventions of solitatry, quiet study, to the pedagocially –driven need for active group study, project areas, tutoring, and office hours. There is an increased need for academic discussion and event space. The intention is to encourage more current, collaborative learning for students, faculty, and staff.
Participatory learning communities are where everyone is an active participant.
